Whenever the Full Moon rises in the sky, our emotional tides on Earth tend to swell. The movement of the Moon has a direct impact on the Earth’s water, and since a large part of the human body is made up of water, we naturally feel this influence. If we haven’t mastered emotional regulation, these emotional tides can lead to inner turmoil. And that’s perfectly natural for our nervous system and the essence of our existence. This is where the concept of rising above your birth chart comes into play. If you’re able to read your nervous system and have a keen sense of your being, congratulations! You’re likely starting to transcend your birth chart. If that’s not quite the case yet, you might be experiencing this energy in its most primal form, somewhere between the heavens and the Earth. Remembering that we’re one with nature, we can better understand the truth behind the saying, ‘As above, so below.’ This is precisely why Full Moon cycles often bring about more intense and emotionally triggering events, and we may even notice their reflection in natural phenomena. But this time, the energy feels tenser — let’s take a closer look.
In this Full Moon cycle, the Sun is in Leo, while the Moon resides in Aquarius. These two signs are natural opposites in astrology. When they face off, tension is inevitable. Adding to this tension, Uranus forms a 90-degree aspect to both the Sun and the Moon, creating what we call a ‘square aspect.’ When another planet forms a 90-degree angle to two opposing signs (like the Sun and Moon here), we get a T-square — a challenging aspect pattern that amplifies the tension. You can see this aspect pattern illustrated in Figure 1 below.
Figure 1: T-square
In this aspect pattern, the area where Uranus is located becomes the focal point of concentration. The planet that challenges the opposing planets (in this case, Uranus) is always referred to as the apex. How this aspect functions is determined by the planet positioned at the apex — Uranus. Our esteemed teacher Barış İlhan explains this aspect simply as follows:
‘It creates a situation where energy is intensely focused and almost obsessively used. Therefore, its destructive use must be corrected immediately.’ (Barış İlhan, Astrology Lessons, p. 171)
When Uranus is involved and energy is concentrated here, and if this is where the potential for destructive use lies, what should we correct and bring into balance? The signs of Leo and Aquarius, where the Sun and Moon are positioned, tell us: ‘Don’t act out, stay calm, don’t divide, don’t dig into problems. Instead, maintain objectivity and strive for balance.’
Unfortunately, the concept of balance is not among Uranus’s keywords. Quite the contrary, it’s all about imbalance. Sudden, unexpected, surprising, shocking, unconventional, and unique situations are what bring Uranus’s energy to life. We’re focusing on Uranus because it’s the planet causing the tension and discomfort in this Full Moon. The area where we need to calm Uranus down is in the Leo-Aquarius axis, specifically the ego. It’s time to invite our healthy ego and leadership qualities onto the stage to continue in our lives.
This Full Moon is so powerful that, for some, it feels like the background music to their life is ‘I’ll take off and go like a madman.’ If only Sezen Aksu could sing it every second, maybe then we’d release this pent-up energy… Clearly, we really need to let off some steam, friends. To avoid being overshadowed by this tremendous energy buildup, invite more creative and fulfilling energy into your life that aligns with your goals.
During the Aquarius Full Moon, Mercury is retrograding in Leo and is conjunct the Sun. It’s asking, ‘What are you wishing for? What did you want from life? Come on, remember.’ When did you forget your divine energy? Call it back and remember. Create your future anew, put aside what’s been troubling you. A little distance can do everyone good, right? If you won’t take yourself by the hand in this life, then whose hand will you hold first? Since this Full Moon is so eager to shatter our emotions, let’s aim to stay objective about what disturbs us. There may be desires we need to detach from, and if that’s the case, we’ll transform. And in doing so, we’ll align with the Full Moon.
Is it just our personal lives that are transforming? No, friends. Everything, the whole world, and the collective are evolving along with you. Could you be tired of holding onto what’s been weighing you down? If so, this might be what you need to hear:
‘My struggle with places where I don’t belong is over.
